Creating the Energy for Change is a 5 year research project that is investigating innovative ways of dividing up and representing energy use in shared buildings so as to motivate occupants to save energy.

Creating the Energy for Change is funded as part of the Transforming Energy Demand in Buildings through Digital Innovation (buildTEDDI) programme by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC). It builds on findings and methods from C-Aware and Smart Living.

The length of the project allows us to follow a full user-centred design process with members of staff in a range of workplaces in order to develop, deliver and evaluate social and technical measures to help reduce energy consumption, as well as the policies that are necessary to encourage and manage the resulting workplace changes.

In October 2014 I spoke alongside Dr Caroline Leygue on BBC Radio Nottingham about energy monitoring in shared buildings.

I also spoke on BBC Local Radio on the same subject.
