Pervasive Projection

At the same time as producing Rivers Baghdad Theresa Caruana and I began experimenting more broadly with projection and sound to create interactive immersive environments. We carried out a range of tests of different combinations of conventional and mobile projectors with physical objects and architectural details to uncover new interactive techniques. Of particular interest at the time was the potential for use of recently available mobile projector phones: we considered how to use mobile projection to give brief life to inanimate objects and to complete patterns in the surrounding environment.

Some of these suggestions for interesting applications of projector phones arising from our lab experiments were presented at the first Ubiprojection workshop at Pervasive:
